Every Lockout Gets Help in Minutes, Not Hours

AI agents and locksmith-trained specialists answer panic calls, dispatch technicians, and handle key and access inquiries in 65+ languages around the clock.

The short version: AI voice costs $0.15 a minute and a live agent starts at $300 a month for 500 minutes. Put AI on pricing, service-area and scheduled-work calls; put a person on lockouts. We integrate with Jobber and ServiceTitan, and five days is our normal window to place an agent who knows your radius.

the part nobody prices in

Your competition is not another locksmith. It is the caller hanging up.

A lockout is the least loyal transaction in the trades. Nobody has a locksmith. They search, they call the first three results, and whoever answers gets the job — not whoever is closest, not whoever is cheapest, and certainly not whoever calls back in twenty minutes.

Which means the phone is not an administrative cost for a locksmith. It is the entire top of the funnel, and it rings hardest at exactly the hours when you are least able to pick it up: 2am, mid-drill, under a door with both hands occupied.

That is the real argument for splitting the line. The quote calls can wait a beat; the lockout cannot. AI answers the first group instantly for pennies, which frees the money to keep a real person available for the second — instead of one overwhelmed voicemail box handling both badly.

what it costs

Published rates, so you can do the arithmetic first.

Most vendors in this category quote by form. These are our published packages — not a quote, since language mix, hours and volume all move the number. The per-minute figures are simply the monthly price divided by the included minutes.

OptionPublished pricePer minuteWhat it's for
AI voice $0.15 per minute Hours, service area, "how much to rekey a deadbolt", ETA checks
Web chat $0.05 per session Quote requests from your site while you are under a door
Live shared team from $300 / month includes 500 min → ≈ $0.60/min Overnight and weekend coverage when you are asleep or on a job
Live shared team from $650 / month includes 1,500 min → ≈ $0.43/min Peak coverage when you are running two vans
Dedicated agent from $5.80 per hour, per agent One team that knows your pricing, your radius and your van stock

Anything involving a person is a starting price. Two things move it: which languages you need, and how senior an agent the work actually requires — a bilingual agent handling refund authority is not the same hire as one taking bookings. AI voice and web chat are flat, because there is no hiring in them. And every model above is open to every business on this page: which one fits is a question about the shape of your volume, not about your industry.

Minimum engagement is half a seat — not a five-seat block. We also bill per resolved issue, from $1, where you pay nothing if it is not resolved; that model fits businesses where a customer problem actually gets solved on the call, not businesses where the call is intake.

who takes which call

Route by the cost of getting it wrong.

Most vendors sell you either an AI receptionist or a live answering service and leave the allocation to you. Since we run both, here is the split we would actually recommend — including the calls we think should never touch automation.

The callRoute toCost of getting it wrong
"How much to rekey five locks?" AI A lost quote
"Do you cover my zip code?" AI A lost lead
Booking a scheduled rekey or install AI An annoyed customer
"I am locked out, it is 2am, I have my kid with me" Human The job, the review, and possibly someone's safety
Car lockout with a child or pet inside Human An emergency you do not want scripted
Caller cannot prove they live there Human Helping someone break into a house

setup

Five days to put the right person on it.

Five days is our normal window to staff a live account — that is five days to find and place an agent who fits your business, not five days of software setup. AI voice can go live sooner because there is no hiring step.

your existing software

It lands in the system you already run.

We integrate with Jobber, ServiceTitan and Skimmer, so a booking taken at 9pm on a Sunday is on the schedule before your first truck moves Monday morning, with the intake notes attached to the job. If you run something else, tell us what it is and we will tell you straight whether we connect to it today or whether it needs building.

what comes off the call

What reaches you after we pick up.

The point of an intake checklist for a locksmith is that a van should never leave without knowing what is on the other end. Every call comes back to you as a written summary with these fields filled in:

  • Name, callback number and the exact address — including apartment or unit
  • What is locked: house, car, safe, mailbox, commercial door
  • Lock type and brand if the caller can see it — Schlage, Kwikset, Medeco, a mortise, a smart lock
  • For vehicles: year, make, model, and whether the key is inside or lost entirely
  • Whether anyone or any pet is shut inside, and whether anyone is at risk
  • How the caller can prove the property is theirs — lease, ID matching the address, a landlord who can vouch
  • Whether it is an emergency callout or can wait for a scheduled slot
  • Parking, gate access, and whether they will be on site when you arrive

It reaches you by SMS and email, and it goes into Jobber or ServiceTitan as a job with the notes attached. Nobody should be reconstructing an address from a voicemail at 2am.

where AI should not be

The calls we will not put a bot on.

Proving the caller lives there

This is the one that matters. Verifying that the person locked out actually belongs on the other side of that door is judgment work, and getting it wrong means helping someone break in. A person asks the follow-up question a script would not think to ask.

A child or pet locked in a car

Time-critical and emotionally loaded. This call needs someone who can keep the caller calm, decide in seconds whether to redirect them to 911, and reach you directly rather than leaving a ticket in a queue.

Quoting a job nobody has seen

High-security cylinders, damaged frames, safes and commercial panic hardware do not have a phone price. A person gives a range and says plainly that the tech confirms on site. Automation tends to state a number and then you eat the difference.

The angry callback

A customer who thinks they were overcharged, or whose lock failed a week later, is deciding right now whether to write a review. That is not a conversation to hand to a bot in the name of efficiency.

when we're the wrong choice

Three cases where you should hire someone else.

  • You want someone who knows the streets. If it matters that whoever answers can say "oh, the industrial park past the tracks", hire a local answering service. Our teams are in Canada, Bolivia, Nicaragua, the Philippines and China. They will know your rate card and your radius cold; they will not know your neighbourhoods.
  • You want pure software and no humans at all. There are AI-only receptionist products built for exactly that, and they are simpler to buy than we are. Our whole argument is that lockout verification needs a person — if you disagree, we are the wrong vendor.
  • You are a one-van shop taking a handful of calls a week. Start with the AI tier only, or honestly, keep using your mobile. At a few calls a week the maths does not clear the effort of onboarding anyone. Come back when the phone starts costing you jobs.

questions

What buyers ask before they sign.

How much does it cost?

AI voice is $0.15 per minute and web chat is $0.05 per session. Live agents start at $300 per month including 500 minutes — about $0.60 per minute — or from $5.80 per hour for a dedicated agent working only your account. The minimum engagement is half a seat, not a five-seat block.

How fast can you start answering our phones?

Five days is our normal window to staff a live account — that is five days to find and place an agent who fits your business, not five days of software setup. AI voice can go live sooner because there is no hiring step.

Do you answer in Spanish?

Yes, on the same number, with agents in our Bolivia and Nicaragua operation centres — native Spanish, not machine translation. English and Spanish share one queue, and we cover 60+ more languages if you need them.

Can I mix AI and live agents on one number?

That is the normal setup. You decide which call types go to AI and which reach a person, and you can change the split as your volume changes. Nothing about that decision is locked in at signup.

Can the service screen out suspicious lockout calls?

A person can. We collect address, ID details and the caller's relationship to the property, and flag anything that does not add up before a van is dispatched. This is exactly the kind of judgment we route to a human rather than automate.

What happens to a 2am emergency call?

It reaches a person, not a voicemail and not a bot. They take the address, the lock type and whether anyone is at risk, then reach you by the method you choose. If you would rather have AI take overnight calls to keep the cost down, you can — we just would not recommend it for lockouts.
